Global Elevates Podcasting Capabilities With Captivate Acquisition
As podcasting popularity continues to rise, Europe’s top radio company adds a dynamic podcast management platform to its product offerings.

Global, one of the UK’s top radio and media companies, announced it has acquiring Captivate, a dynamic podcast management startup. The strategic acquisition allows Global to continue expanding its digital audio product offerings with the capabilities of a powerful podcast hosting, analytics and monetization platform.
“We’re delighted to be acquiring Captivate, a best in class self-serve platform for podcast creators, with access to market leading analytics and monetization,” said Global Group CEO, Stephen Miron. “This acquisition will enable us to support all talent in the podcast community from the very largest to emerging new talent. We believe that this platform, combined with the massive scale and reach of Global Player and DAX will give all our podcast partners an unrivalled advantage.”
Captivate serves as an easy-to-use and customizable podcast management technology for brands around the world. Its end-to-end platform gives users the ability to create, distribute, and measure their podcast performance in one single dashboard.
The platform helps podcasters easily present their audio content to audiences on some of the world’s top podcast listening apps. With just a single click, users can submit their content to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, and many more popular listening apps. The UK-based platform hosts over 14,000 podcasts.

Captivate will integrate its platform with Global’s audio content product, Global Player, and its digital advertising platform DAX (Digital Ad Exchange).
“Our vision for Captivate has always been clear: to proactively help independent podcast creators build their audio brand and to deliver a diverse range of monetisation options for them,” Captivate co-founder, Mark Asquith, said. “Joining Global allows us to continue to fulfil that vision by bringing DAX and Global Player to Captivate podcasters, while also providing more opportunities for the platform to positively contribute to future of the industry.”
The acquisition is the audio platform’s second in the fourth quarter of 2021 behind October’s addition of Remixd, a US-based digital audio technology platform equipped with natural language processing capabilities to convert text into audio files.
